Welcome to my Digital Altitude review. Have you come across Digital Altitude or their product, Aspire Today, and are wondering if it is legit? Or do you simply want to know if its a scam. According to Digital Altitude’s “We teach digital entrepreneurs how to start and grow a profitable online business with tips and around the News. Time to make a difference today”.
Many in the online affiliate community have been singing the praises of their business course, Aspire Today as an incredibly valuable resource. However this praise is merely a by product of the need to heavily recruit other members in order to earn substantial commissions.
It is this very set up, that has forced the FTC to halt the business coaching scheme all together. Digital Altitude Review
Digital Altitude promoted their Aspire Today program heavily, with the promise that you could earn massive amounts of income, with barely any work. Unfortunately the majority of people who signed up to the program made absolutely no money, and this is what caught the eye of the government.
The scheme did not have a valuable product that could sell on its own accord. In fact the primary reason for buying the higher packages was to enable you to be able to earn higher commissions selling it to others. This was a pay to play system. And with any programs like this, people only make money when there are others to recruit. They always ulitmately fold or get shut down.
The other Michael Force was being sued by the owner of MOBE, Matt Lloyd for copy right infringement. It was allegeded that Michael simply reproduced all of MOBEs resources for his Digital Altitude products. It seemed that if he did copy the resources, he copied more than just the material. He copied the entire business premise, and ulitmately the same fate as MOBE.
MOBE was also shut down by the FTC, for the very same reasons.
The FTC alleges that the defendants falsely claim that their business education program will enable people to start their own online businesses and earn substantial income. They claim to have a “proven” 21-step system for making substantial sums of money quickly and easily from internet marketing, which they promise to provide to those who join their program.
So lets take a look at the scam, to try nd learn something
The Digital Altitude Scam
As you would clearly know by now the Digital Altitude product line up is all hype and scam. For those of you who don’t know much about the Aspire Today products let me explain, then we can take a look at what we can learn from all this.
The Aspire Today website is pretty standard for any scam, fake scarcity, focusing on selling you the dream, with no substance.
What the products were, was just a way to on sell the “opportunity to make money” to others. Buy the product yourself, to earn commissions you need to have the product it is pay to play. You will then been given access on training around the products and how to market them.
The reason this program was shut down was because it was the worst kind of affiliate program – if you can call it that. It was a recruitment driven multi-level marketing program, despite all their protests to this fact.
A very simple explanation of how it all works, and how people made money is as follows:
- I buy a product, lets say the $9997 ascend product
- Then i promote it to you, explaining to you that if you buy it, you can sell it for big commissions just like I am.
- You buy it off me, and start promoting it yourself.
- The cycle continues
This type of program can operate without any program at all really, because no one cares about it. The sales of the product are purely so you can sell it to other people to get commissions. You are purely moving money around, and at some point someone is left with the bill. As long as you can convince others they will make money, you will be successful.
The Aspire Today Costs
What Digital Altitude did was create a system that incentives you to sign other people up, but also to buy more products. When you sign someone up, they form part of your down line and you earn a small omission on anything they sell. This can go 3 tiers deep. So obviously the more people you sign up, the more direct commission you get along with the chance of recurring income from their sales.
Pretty good system right? It cost you a pretty penny to make real money. If you only had the bottom level product and someone bought a higher level product than you, you miss out on all your commissions. So after a small time promoting the product you very quickly had the desire to buy up the product line. All the way to nearly $30k.
These products start at $600 and go all the way to $27k (which earns you the $7k I spoke about earlier)
- Base – $595
- Rise – $1,997
- Ascend – $9,997
- Peak – $16,997
- Apex – $27,997
If you owned the Apex product and sold it to someone else, you earnt $7,000. That is a massively attract incentive. If you started out and were successful selling say the Rise product for example you would become confident in selling higher products.
Unfortunately the reality was 99% of people who purchased these products made NO money at all, and had big bills for the benefit. So what can we learn about all of this?
What Can You Learn From Digital Altitudes Scam?
Programs like Digital Altitude focus on people wanting to make money fast and selling the dream of a get rich quick scheme. Get rich quick schemes NEVER work. All online business and internet marketing rely heavily on traffic and a network. In order to sell your products you need to have people see your offering. Even more importantly you need the right people.
Those who made a lot of money with Digital Altitude had been in the affiliate marketing industry for a long time. They had a trusted loyal network of followers, and more importantly knew what to say, where and when to say it to convince others to buy.
Lets be honest if someone you never met just asked you to buy a $28k product, you wouldn’t dream of handing your money over. But unfortunately everyone scammed by Digital Altitude failed to see this point.
Red Flags for Online Scams
Scams like Digital Altitude all have clear telltale signs that you can take note of to not fall prey to any future scams
- They focus on getting rich quick. You can make more money with X minutes of work than a full time salary. Or you can earn $1000s in a day.
- All sell the dream of what you will do with your money. This gets you excited about how your life will change, and clouds your judgement
- Fake scarcity. Now this one is not as clear cut, its a common sales technique even for legitimate platforms.
- A worthless product. The products they sell are useless and will no one would buy them on their own accord. Sales are purely made for the opportunity to be an affiliate.
- Focus on recruiting others. A platform that coaches you purely to recruit other people to make sales. Again legitimate MLMs use this system, but personally I prefer to stay away from MLMs all together. Their compensation plans or deceptively complex to make them seem far more attractive than they really are.
The only positive that can come out of Digital Altitudes collapse is hopefully it will open a lot of potential affiliate marketers eyes. There are many legitimate ways to make money online, none of them are “get rich quick”. You need to work to make money online. So how do I do it?
My Recommendation For Making Money Online
In order to make money online you need to have the skills and the marketing knowledge to set up your online business and to make sales. Ultimately if you chose a good product, the real driver will be your ability to sell.
That is why my number 1 recommendation for anyone wanting to make money online is a program that teaches you the skills you NEED to grow a profitable online business and eventually create yourself a passive income. Skills such as how to use paid advertising, what channels you can use to sell and how to effective communicate a good message for your product.
Needless to say if you sign up to this product I get a commission. That is how affiliate marketing works. But I never recommend a product that hasn’t helped me MAKE MONEY. I value my personal brand and credibility too highly. In fact this program has helped me make the MOST MONEY out of all the ones I have reviewed.
